I had a blast working on Marathon. After a couple of years of concept work, I had the opportunity to create the key art for the game. Working alongside the art team's concept work, I began by modeling, texturing, and rigging high definition 3D assets for the core cast of runners. That allowed me to iterate quickly on the key art, I could play with a wide variety of compositions, scenarios, and poses without needing much in the way of 2D polish. It felt more like photography than illustration, I really enjoyed myself. It was a great learning experience, and set me up for my eventual transition into creating animated cinematics for the runners.

Here are a few pieces I put together for Assassin in close collaboration with Art Director Joseph Cross and Marketing Creative Director Garrett Morlan, building on amazing character design work by Tobias Kwan, Dima Goryainov, and Patrick Bloom.
